updated June 17, 2021

Due to the widespread outbreak of COVID-19, Richard J Curotto, DDS has updated some of our daily procedures. You’ll still receive the same exemplary service from our dedicated team. However, to ensure the safety of all our patients here are some changes we have implemented effective June 17th, 2021:

We understand that everyone is excited to return to activities we enjoyed before the pandemic. However, face coverings will still be required in our office, even for people who are fully vaccinated. We’re following the advice of our infectious disease experts and CDC guidance, as it pertains to medical and dental treatment, and remain committed to providing a safe environment for our patients, their families and our workforce. Self-screening for symptoms and good hand hygiene will remain in place as well. You’ll find hand sanitizer in the office for your use.

If you are experiencing any cold or flu like symptoms, please alert the office in advance so that we may reschedule your appointment.

Thank you. We look forward to serving you.

Your Safety is Paramount

The office will be reopening for business on June 1st. Your health and safety are of utmost importance to us. We believe oral health is crucial to overall good health. We believe good health provides a sense of calm and security. This is why Dentistry is an essential service.

We are Sensitive to Your Concerns

We realize many of you will be concerned and very apprehensive, we do not blame you. Fear, time, money, sterilization technique, and special distancing issues will become high priority for all of us. The team and I are listening.

We Will Test Our Staff Daily

Screening and temperatures will be taken on all employees daily. Employees will wear additional protective equipment to further decrease any likelihood of any personal cross contamination.

Equipment Will Be Sterilized BEYOND Stringent Standards

We have increased already stringent sterilization procedures and protocols beyond our normal high standards. Everything, as always, goes through the autoclave. No exceptions. Temperature in the autoclave reaches 270°F (121°C) under 16 pounds of atmospheric pressure, which is more than enough to kill COVID-19.

Reception Area Will Be Disinfected Throughout the Day

Prior to the start of every day, and throughout the day, all doorknobs, handles, entry counters, and reception chairs will be wiped down and sprayed with disinfectant. As usual, plastic barriers will be placed on all difficult to wipe surfaces. Air purifiers with HEPA filters are now in all rooms. Floors will be cleaned throughout the day.

Patient Reception Procedures Modified to Maintain Distancing

Patients will be seated at diagonal distances in the reception area. You will be requested to text or call upon your arrival to make sure there is adequate space available in the office. All non-patients, i.e., all relatives, children, drivers, caregivers, and friends, will be asked to remain in the car or outside the office during your appointment. We will call them when your appointment is completed. Our patient scheduling will be decreased to limit patient flow and the number of patients in the office at one time. We will prioritize appointments that were changed during the last 8 weeks. This may create a slight backlog in appointment availability.

Patient Protective Measures and Health Assessment

We are requesting that you wear a mask to your appointment. Patients will be provided with an application of hand sanitizer on arrival. Questions will be asked regarding possible exposure. Temperatures will be taken with a non-contact thermometer and recorded. A pre-rinse of hydrogen peroxide/Listerine will be issued by the dental assistant prior to treatment. An Isovac will now be utilized to contain aerosol during procedures. Please note we will also consider personal, reasonable requests. As stated, your safety is our ultimate concern.

We Strive to Accommodate You Flexibly

We realize it will be inconvenient to leave your job or business, so we will try to maximize your appointment time to limit the number of visits whenever possible. We are also happy to discuss payment options so that treatment can be provided.

This May Become the New Normal

We care about you and we are looking forward to seeing you again. Things will be different, and we must accept change like we all did after 9/11. Remember your first visit to the airport after 9/11? That was a new experience just like these changes will be. Feel free to call the office with any concerns regarding this letter. We welcome your questions and concerns. We do care and we are listening.

The “Michelangelo of Dentistry” is what one patient calls Dr. Curotto in this rave review.

High-Tech Dentistry with a Friendly, Human Touch

We have high-tech equipment not for the sake of high-tech, but to provide you with the best dental care experience possible.

Our state-of-the-art CEREC system (console pictured at left) is a miracle of modern technology, digitally scanning your mouth to create a computer-milled ceramic crown that fits your mouth perfectly… while you wait! The advantage to you is that you can get a permanent crown replacement in ONE OFFICE VISIT: no messy impression, no temporary crown, everything finished in a single visit.

Our BIOLASE laser system can be a conservative alternative to bone and gum surgery. Because they don’t generate heat and vibration, lasers eliminate the need for anesthesia in many instances.

We use the Schick CDR Elite Digital X-Ray system which gives us outstanding image quality and uses ultra-LOW radiation compared to conventional X-Rays.

Linear Dental Sterilization AreaDr. Curotto has upgraded his Sterilization Center with new, state of the art ultrasonic and autoclave sterilization equipment.

Dr. Curotto’s office uses high-tech solutions to make your whole experience smoother and more convenient, like appointment reminders and confirmation responses via text messages to your phone or email.
